Osprey Wilds is proud to be a leader in environmental education and renewable energy initiatives. We are an accredited school (K-12 and post-secondary). All of our staff and interns are trained and certified in CPR and First Aid.
1979 – One of the top ten environmental learning centers in the U.S. by the New York Times
1995 – Certified as school by AdvancED (North Central Association.Commission and Accreditation on School Improvement)
2002 – Became a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified Smartwood Forest (# SW-FM/COC-108)
2006 – Award for ‘Outstanding Service to Environmental Education’ from the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE)
2009 – Official Best of Environmental Education for Minnesota
2012 – Best Weekend Nature Retreat by the Minneapolis Star Tribune
2012 – Emeritus Founding Executive Director Mike Link received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Environmental Education from MAEE
2014 – Certified Monarch WayStation #8445 by MonarchWatch.org
2014 – Executive Director Bryan Wood received the 2014 Non-formal Environmental Educator of the Year from MAEE
2015 – Wildlife Coordinator, Jeff Tyson, achieved Certified Professional Bird Trainer – Knowledge Assessed status
2018 and 2020– Achieved Gold Gold Seal of Transparency on GuideStar
