DESCRIPTION:This event has been rescheduled for June 13\, 2020.  Dinner at the Lake with Bridget Mendel\, Program Manager at the UMN Bee Squad \n After a wonderful banquet dinner in our lakeside dining hall\, the Program Manager from the University of Minnesota’s Bee Squad\, Bridget Mendel\, will be our keynote speaker. She will introduce us to the Bee Squad program\, share what people can do to support bees and pollinators\, and explain why it is so important. \nInspired by Dr. Marla Spivak at the University of Minnesota Bee Lab\, the Bee Squad helps beekeepers and the community in the Twin Cities promote the conservation\, health\, and diversity of bee pollinators through research\, education\, and hands-on mentorship. They offer beekeeping short-courses for the public\, beekeeping manuals\, and expert help from the Bee Squad for new and experienced beekeepers\, as well as offer a plethora of online resources about bees and beekeeping\, and a number of programs to explore and support bees. \nBridget is the Program Manager at the University of Minnesota Bee Squad. She takes care of bees\, teaches classes for beekeepers and the public\, and manages interdisciplinary\, pollinator-focused programs. She also writes grants and communications for Bee Squad’s and research and educational projects.
